We started five years ago and our Directors, Wayne McLeod and Alan Hinchliffe, have a combined 50 years experience in the steel industry.

Industry background
Thirty years ago the steel industry in Perth had no fewer than fifteen steel merchants servicing Western Australia. That is not the case in the 21st century.
Corporate takeovers, mergers and other arrangements have reduced this number to just two.
The market dominance of the major corporations has led to the total loss of customer service which was once enjoyed in the steel industry. With the demise of independent steel merchants came the introduction of Corporate Benchmarks, Procedures and Corporate Profit Goals, coinciding with the death of good old fashioned customer service.
There exists though, a few small independent steel merchants where customer service remains the priority... STEELand is one such operation.
